S. ORESTIS PALERMOS
Philosophy of Mind and Cognitive Science | Epistemology | Philosophy of Science | Technology | Ethics | Law
I am Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Ioannina, Greece.
In my research, I take an interdisciplinary approach, drawing on philosophy of mind and cognitive science, epistemology, philosophy of science, philosophy of technology, and applied ethics. I analyse how philosophy can inform the design of emerging technologies and socio-technical systems, and I theorise about the nature of knowledge and metaphysics of cognition.

Before returning to Greece, I was Lecturer (tenured Assistant Professor) and then Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at Cardiff University; prior to that that, I was Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Edinburgh, where I also earned my PhD and MSc in Philosophy. My first degree, a BSc & MSc in Chemical Engineering, is from the National Technical University of Athens.
